It has never been easy to be a woman. Women still have a long way to reach equal rights, as our society is still patriarchal. Hence, it makes celebrating Women's Equality Day on August 26 more important than it ever was.

Today, we see women in the military, in space, and as CEOs of large companies. But to achieve this, they have undergone many struggles. Feminism as a whole has brought multiple changes in women’s lives around the globe.

The right to vote is a fundamental right in any democratic country. But did you know that wasn’t always the case? In The United States, women were not allowed to vote until 1920! To achieve this, women had to protest for decades during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Fortunately, after all the struggle, the 19th Amendment was ratified in 1920, giving the right to vote to every citizen regardless of gender.

Women’s Equality Day celebrates the advancements of women’s rights and reminds us of the struggles that women go through on a daily basis.

Below are a few productive Women’s Equality Day celebration ideas. But before we talk about those, we at W.T Rawleigh want to bring some awareness about our Cranberry Softgels. A product designed to meet the health needs of women and support a healthy urinary tract. You can check it out on our website.

Spread the word

Not everyone knows what Women’s Equality Day is about. In today’s world, social media is something that billions of people have, and this makes it a great tool to spread the word. Another way to spread the word is to create posters/pamphlets and put them up around town.

Donate to organizations that support equality

There are many organizations that support women’s rights, on multiple fronts: fighting for equal access to healthcare, voting rights, anti-discrimination laws, and many more. You can donate to any foundation or organization and make whatever financial contribution you can. If not, being a volunteer is also a great idea. Check out a local women’s shelter’s wishlist to see if there’s anything they might need - like tampons, pads, or warm clothes.

Sign the Women's Equality Day petition

Sign a petition to make Women’s Equality Day a federal holiday. Everybody needs an extra day off and if it is one celebrating women, even better. You can sign a Change.org petition or even write to your local Congressperson or Senator.

W.T Rawleigh supports equal rights for women, we are dedicated to the cause yearlong. We believe every company and every individual should do the same.
