Each pack provides 2 fluid ounces or 59 mL of the alcohol free, Rawleigh’s Propolis Throat Spray. It is a special herbal formula made with honey, ascorbic acid, zinc picolinate, clove oil, propolis, red clover and Echinacea purpurea herb powder all of which help provide a soothing relief to the throat and promote fresh breath. Use it daily and particularly during times of discomfort - the blend of honey, zinc, Vitamin C, propolis and echinacea extracts, along with clove (a natural numbing agent) provides relief for sore and irritated throats. Simply spray several times toward the back of the throat and repeat as necessary (4-5 times daily, as needed).*

The word propolis comes from the Greek language “defender of the city”. The bees for millions of years have protected their hives from invasion and infection with a sticky, resinous substance called propolis. The elder bees within the hive gather the propolis from the bark and leaf buds of certain trees and plants. The propolis is brought back to the hive, mixed with wax and saliva to creating a greenish brown rubbery substance with which to seal, polish and coat the interior of the hive. This provides the queen bee with a sterile environment in which to hatch her eggs, and ensures that wind, rain, pollution, bugs and parasites are kept out, as well as bacteria. *

Developed from nature's pharmacy, the beehive, Honeybee Propolis thus offers strong antibiotic, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. When used daily, it can help build the body's natural resistance to infections and diseases. So get your mouth and throat the defense it needs!*

  • Soothes Itching, Freshens Breath: Through its antibacterial and soothing properties, Propolis Throat Spray helps calm constant itching that occurs at the onset of a cough. It lubricates the mouth and throat, freshens breath. Clove reduces microbial growth in the mouth and freshens breath – Propolis Throat Spray may provide relief from halitosis or chronic bad breath.*
  • Immune Support with Nature’s Antitbiotic: Propolis, a natural substance collected by honey bees, is full of bioflavonoids and naturally supports the immune system. It helps in reliving a scratchy painful throat. Repeated use of prescription antibiotics leads to a decreased resistance to germs. Propolis is both a strong antibiotic and anti inflammatory among other things which helps the build immune system*
  • Drinking tea or warm lemon water mixed with honey is a time-tested way to soothe a sore throat. But honey alone may be an effective cough suppressant, too. The honey in Propolis Throat Spray helps relieve coughs and sore throats.*
  • Zinc for rhinovirus: According to the Mayo Clinic - “an analysis of several studies showed that zinc lozenges or syrup reduced the length of a cold by one day, especially when taken within 24 hours of the first signs and symptoms of a cold. Most colds are caused by a type of virus called rhinovirus, which thrives and multiplies in the nasal passages and throat (upper respiratory system). Zinc may work by preventing the rhinovirus from multiplying. It may also stop the rhinovirus from lodging in the mucous membranes of the throat and nose. Zinc may be more effective when taken in lozenge or syrup form, which allows the substance to stay in the throat and come in contact with the rhinovirus.”*
  • Echinacea extract has a complex mix of active substances, some of which are said to be antimicrobial, while others are believed to have an effect on the human immune system. Echinacea also contains alkylamides or alkamides which have an effect on the immune system, as well as polysaccharides, glycoproteins, and caffeic acid derivatives.*
